How Dangerous Are Instant Noodle Soups?

Flavor enhancers are suspected of promoting cancer and causing other complaints such as migraines.

How dangerous are instant noodle soups?

They are done quickly. Water from the kettle into the plastic cup or for the pasta package, wait a moment – the meal is ready! But, you already suspect, it can’t be healthy, can it? How dangerous is it really to eat such instant noodle soups and why?

ingredients

Such soups and noodle dishes are usually based on “ramen”, a Japanese type of noodle that basically only consists of three ingredients. Water, wheat flour and salt. There is nothing unhealthy about it, because these are exactly the same ingredients that go into Italian pasta.

German egg noodles contain significantly more fat and calories because there is a fourth ingredient, the egg. The problem with these ready-made soups are the additives that turn the instant noodles into the finished “dish”.

Even if the package says “Chicken Noodle Soup”, most of the time not a piece of chicken will have gotten lost in the soup. And you can look for the “dried vegetables” with a magnifying glass, then you will find them too!

Therefore one thing is certain: the taste is artificially produced. It is packaged in bags with a lot of flavor enhancer.

Critical ingredients

Flavor enhancers are suspected of promoting cancer and triggering other complaints such as migraines. Since the instant soups are mostly in plastic packaging, a lot of bisphenol A was also found in the ready meals.

Bisphenol A is a plasticizer. This can trigger diabetes, fertility problems, and obesity. Bisphenol A also affects the female hormone balance.

Artificial flavorings cause allergies and are always a reason for food intolerance.

Obesity

Fattening up

The noodles, which in themselves are not so “dangerously unhealthy”, are not always made durable by drying, but are often fried. This deep-frying fat can of course also be found in the soup.

A noodle soup that looks so clear and low in calories unfortunately quickly becomes a fat bomb. The fat eyes are not visible on the soup!

The fats contained in instant soups are saturated, non-essential and have a very poor fatty acid ratio. Often the noodles in the soup are quasi “noodle fries”.

heart

The noodle soups beat on the heart

It should have been clear to everyone, even before the study by a US university became known, that such packet soups are not healthy.

The study showed that regular consumption (and two bags a week is too much!) Of such instant soups leads to heart disease.

More than 10,700 people took part in the large-scale study. Unfortunately, the result was clear: Stay away from instant noodle soups!

Women especially affected

The large study found, among other things, that women in particular risk their health if they eat such soups on a regular basis.

The probability of developing metabolic syndrome increases by almost 70 percent for women when they eat such instant soups!

The “metabolic syndrome” is the main trigger for heart and vascular diseases and is also called the “fatal quartet”. Roughly speaking, these are the four risk factors. Obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels and high blood sugar levels or even diabetes II.

These four factors are mutually dependent. Obesity leads to high blood pressure, poor diet leads to obesity and high blood sugar and cholesterol levels. It all adds up to a high risk of heart attacks and other life-threatening diseases.

Blood pressure

This is how you ruin your health

The study made it very clear. Those who consume such instant noodle soups regularly gain weight and thus ruin their health in the long term.

There is something that the study also clearly showed. The control group with whom the results were compared had to eat healthy. So you ate a lot of fruits, vegetables, fish and little unsaturated fatty acids.

In this group of the study, some study participants were even able to improve their state of health!

Alternatives

It should be quick, practical and tasty. Sure, these are the properties of such instant noodle soups. But they are also available with other products! There are many “bag soups” on the market that can be prepared in just five minutes, but are much healthier.

You have to take a look at the list of ingredients, however, the addition of “no preservatives” alone does not make a healthy packet of soup!

Those who buy organic finished products can be sure that they are not consuming any harmful substances, but that does not mean that the fat content is correct!

So it’s worth comparing! And the quantity “per 100g” does not refer to a bowl of soup or the whole packet. You have to read carefully here too. The best thing is still: do it yourself! And then: Bon appetit!
