Does Red Wine Really Support Athletic Performance?

A glass of red wine or grape juice a day can be very healthy. Remember, however, that it shouldn’t be anymore and that exercise is also important so that the desired effect can be achieved with the red wine.

Does red wine really support athletic performance?

Red wine is said to support the effects of sport – that is the result of a scientific study. But can that really be true?

That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t move anymore,  but you can take advantage of the red grapes for yourself.

Do you want to know  why a glass of red wine every two days can be healthy? Then read this article.

Red wine is supposed to support sport

A team of researchers from the University of Alberta (Canada) found in a study that rats were more effective at training if they also consumed resveratrol (the substance in the drink).

A glass of red wine  is therefore not only good for the heart, as has been known until now. It can have other advantages:

  • Improving physical performance,
  • more muscle mass and
  • Regulation  of blood circulation to the heart.

The  Journal of Physiology  published this study which found that resveratrol can help the body perform and build muscle mass.

However, one should not exaggerate and think that enjoying wine can replace exercise.

The scientists point out that only red wine has these beneficial properties  and that a glass should only be drunk every 48 hours  (every other day).

So you now know: moderation is crucial for health and exercise is still important!

The drink should not be a substitute  but a supplement to healthy exercise.

For example, you can have  a glass of red wine on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and train on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday –  or vice versa. So you don’t have to exercise every day, but you can still achieve the desired goals.

However, if you drink more than one glass a day and do so every day, or if  you move too little and only sit in front of the cigarette box,  the best remedy cannot help.
