  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ glass of cold milk (100 g)
  • ¼ cup wheat flour (50 g)
  • ½ cup cornmeal (100 g)
  • 3 tablespoons of butter (60 g)
  • 250 g cheddar cheese, cut into small cubes
  • Salt (according to taste)

  1. Bring enough water to the boil in a saucepan. Meanwhile, peel the ripe bananas and cut them into small pieces. Then you add the banana pieces to the boiling water. Let it cook for a few minutes.
  2. Then you take out the banana pieces and let them drain. Then you puree them until the whole thing has an even consistency. Now add butter and milk and mix everything well to a firm paste.
  3. Set aside and let rest for about five minutes.
  4. Now you need two bowls: In one you beat the eggs with a pinch of salt. And sift the flour into the other. Add a pinch of salt as well.
  5. Then you form small round dumplings with your hands from the solid pulp of ripe bananas. Then you make a small hollow in the middle of the ball. Put a piece of cheese in there. Then you close the dumpling again with some of the porridge.
  6. Now you first add your banana dumplings to the liquid with the beaten egg. And then you roll it through the flour.
  7. Then you heat enough oil in a pan. Then you add the banana dumplings and fry them until golden brown over medium heat.

  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ¼ cup crumbled crackers (50 g)
  • ½ onion, cut into fine cubes
  • ½ paprika, cut into fine pieces
  • 1 crushed clove of garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika powder (1 g)
  • 200 g Edam cheese, cut into small cubes
  • enough oil for frying

  1. Put all of the ingredients in a blender except the cheese. If you don’t have one, you can mix them together by hand. The whole thing should have an even consistency at the end .
  2. Now you take a portion of the mixture with a spoon. Then you form a small dumpling out of it.
  3. Then you make a small hole in the middle and put some cheese in it. Then you close the hole again.
  4. Now you heat the oil in a large pan and fry the dumplings until they are golden brown. Then fry for another five minutes on a lower heat with the lid closed.
  5. You can serve the dumplings just like that or with a sauce to your liking.

Banana dumplings with goat cheese filling

With this variant of the banana dumplings, you make a filling of goat cheese. They go particularly well with meat or fish dishes. But they are also delicious as dessert.

This recipe makes six generous servings. You can store them prepared in the refrigerator so that you can make them fresh.

Banana piece for banana dumplings

ingredients

  • 3 or 4 ripe bananas, cut into pieces
  • 4 tablespoons butter (80 g)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 tablespoons of corn flour (60 g)
  • 90 g fresh goat cheese
  • ½ cup honey (125 ml)

preparation

  1. First you peel the bananas and cut them into pieces. Then fry them in butter. They should gradually become softer. Then you mash them with a fork.
  2. Then you add flour, honey and cinnamon. Now knead everything well until you get an even dough.
  3. Now you make small balls out of about 30 grams (about the same as half a palm) each.
  4. Now you drill a small hole in the dumpling with your finger. Put a little goat cheese in this hole and then close it up again.
  5. The next step is to heat enough oil in a large pan. Then you fry the banana dumplings until golden brown. Then you take them out of the oil and place them on absorbent paper. This will absorb the excess fat.
  6. To serve, add a little honey over the banana dumplings, depending on your taste.
